April 27, 2016 (Toronto) – OPTrust today formalized its commitment to increasing the number of women working in the industry and the advancement of women into senior leadership roles by announcing its partnership with Women in Capital Markets (WCM), the largest network of professional women in the Canadian capital markets.

“We are extremely pleased that OPTrust has agreed to partner with WCM.  We work very closely with all of our partners to support their internal initiatives to advance women and provide opportunities for professional development and networking for their employees,” said Jennifer Reynolds, WCM President & CEO.

“Our partners understand the business case for having more women in leadership roles and support our advocacy efforts to drive change in the industry.”

“Encouraging and supporting greater leadership development and opportunities for women is one of the key initiatives of OPTrust’s diversity program,” noted Hugh O’Reilly, President and CEO, OPTrust. “We believe that diversity is in the best interests of our organization because it promotes a wider range of thought and better outcomes for our members and retirees. We are proud to work with an organization that is committed to advancing women in business and look forward to many positive outcomes as a direct result of this partnership.”
