Peter Lindley joined OPTrust as President and Chief Executive Officer in 2019 to lead one of Canada’s largest defined benefit pension plans with offices in Toronto, London and Sydney.
As CEO, Peter is responsible for the fund’s overall strategic direction, Member-Driven Investing strategy, pension administration and organizational performance. He is committed to the fund’s long-term sustainability and service excellence to OPTrust’s members. Under Peter’s leadership, OPTrust has prioritized investing in the transition to a lower-carbon world and an inclusion, diversity and equity strategy. He is a strong advocate for DB pensions and broadening retirement security to more Ontarians.
Peter is a financial services industry veteran with over 30 years of experience in strategy, investments, and leading high-performance teams. Prior to joining OPTrust, he served as President and Head of Investments at State Street Global Advisors, where he was responsible for the firm’s overall Canadian business strategy.
Peter obtained a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Leicester, U.K. and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto.
