Defined Benefit Advocacy Program “People for Pensions” is recognized with marketing award

TORONTO, November 6, 2017 – OPTrust today announced it has won a gold MarCom Award for its defined benefit (DB) advocacy program,
People for Pensions
.

People for Pensions

The award recognizes OPTrust’s communications work on the People for Pensions campaign which launched in April 2017 and raises awareness about the value of DB pension plans. The digital, print and community outreach campaign shares information on the benefit of DB plans compared to other kinds of retirement savings vehicles and illustrates how the DB model supports the economy.

“It’s truly rewarding to be recognized in this way, and I am delighted to congratulate all those involved in the creation and launch of People for Pensions,” said Hugh O’Reilly, OPTrust President and CEO. “As strong pension citizens, we believe programs like this provide another important channel to communicate the value of the DB model and advocate for retirement security.  Receiving the gold MarCom award reflects the thoughtful effort that went into the creation of the People for Pensions campaign.”

OPTrust’s award was given in the Strategic Communications/Public Relations Program category. The MarCom Awards is an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals.

The awards are administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, which fosters and supports creative efforts. The Association is the industry’s preeminent third-party evaluator of creative work.
